How To Make a Deli Platter - The Kreative Life

The summer is coming to an end, so a lot of you may be planning an end of summer bash.

There will be lots of fun, food, and drinks going around but who says you have to spend boat loads of money to entertain friends and family?

Plus, everything in the stores are priced so high now that it’s difficult to stay within budget when you want to impress guests.

I figured out a long time ago that it’s more affordable to make a lot of food from scratch because of the ridiculous store markups.

Here is how to make a deli platter that will please everyone. Enjoy!

How To Make a Deli Platter

Food You Need for Your DIY Deli Platter

Large (or depending on the size of your party) Round Plastic Serving Platter

1 Romaine Lettuce Head

Different Types and Cuts of Deli Meat

Cubed Cheese (I used pepper jack and cheddar)

Purple and Green Grapes

Steps to Make Your Own Deli Platter

Step 1: Remove the lettuce leaves from the head. Wash and pat dry.

Cut leaves horizontally mid-length and place on the platter in a circular pattern around the edges of the platter.

Make sure they slightly hang off the edge of the platter.

Step 2: Layer your deli meats.

Meats that are difficult to fold, such as hard salami, should be placed down first following the same circular pattern as the lettuce.

Next, roll (to roll the meat, fold it in half length-wise then roll) the thinner deli meats and place in between the spaces of the other deli meat.

Step 3: Add your cubed cheese to the center of the platter.

For this platter, I cut up two blocks of cheese into cubes.

Step 4: Add the grapes to the outside edge of the platter. Serve with crackers.

Now that you have your homemade deli tray, what drink will you serve it with?

I bet your guest will love this Grand Marnier Summer Breeze Cocktail!

Learning how to make a deli platter is easier than you think. Your guest will love your homemade deli platter and will want to use these 4 easy steps for their very own diy deli tray. - The Kreative Life

This looks great, and it’s such a money-saver. I’m not sure how much the stores are charging for a pre-made deli-platter, but to make this yourself would definitely save money. Good idea!

This is the perfect platter for entertaining or a potluck. Easy to make and much cheaper than buying a ready made platter.

I love this! I didn’t realize how easy this to put together a deli platter, and I usually pay$100 at a local grocer.
