Homemade Lip Gloss

I’ve always been a lip gloss girl. I may have experimented with lipstick when I was younger, but that was before I figured out that I love lip gloss. I’d have at least three different shades of gloss in my purse at one time. Who knew what my mood would be hour by hour, minute by minute? I had to be prepared.
Recently, I decided to try out lipstick again. I went and bought quite a few different shades. I used the tester on the back of my hand while in the store and the colors looked perfect. By the time I got home and tried it on, it seemed as if the colors looked completely different and I always ended up looking like something out of a circus.
Now on top of my stacks of lip gloss, I have stacks of lipstick that I may never use. Am I the only lip gloss girl with this problem? I feel like I’ve wasted money and I’ll never use what I paid for. Well, I had this bright idea to turn all of those unused lipsticks into Kissable Lips Lip Gloss.
This is another easy (three ingredient) beauty idea. With the minimal amount of lipstick used I’ll have lip gloss for months and months. Enjoy!
What You Need
¼ Tsp. Lipstick (any color you choose)
¼ Tsp. Coconut Oil
Petroleum Jelly (just a dab; optional)
Contact Lens Case
Stickers
Directions
Put lipstick, coconut oil, and petroleum jelly in small microwavable container.
Heat in microwave for 10-15 seconds, or until completely melted. With toothpick, stir until all small chunks are gone.
Lipstick (Top) Lip Gloss (Bottom); See the difference?
Pour mixture into bottom part of contact lens case and place in freezer for 5 minutes. While containers are in freezer, decorate tops of lens case with stickers.
After Freezing (Two Different Lipstick Colors Used)
Remove from freezer and screw tops back on contact lens case. The lip gloss will liquefy again after 10 minutes and will be ready for use.
What a cute idea! I love this, I may have to give it a try…

Hi, Nan! Thank you for the follow. I’m on my way to your blog now!
I love the idea of using contact lens cases because I typically get free ones with each bottle of solution, so I end up throwing my old ones out. Thanks for this clever DIY!
