Football season has kicked into full gear and that means jerseys and a lot of yelling at the tv.
My husband is the huge football fan in our house. He’ll watch college (Roll Tide!) and pro (Go Saints!) ball, but I only watch it when he’s watching it.
When I was younger I would sit down and watch an entire game by myself, but now I just can’t do it. I guess I could if I really had the time, but even now I don’t watch much tv.
The only way now to keep me in my seat is to have some food!
I plan out the menu for game days and we usually cook everything together and eat during the entire game. This Smoky Cheese Dip is one of my favorites and is guaranteed to keep me glued to my seat, at least until it runs out.
You can make this for your next football or tailgating party! Enjoy!
Homemade Nacho Cheese Dip
½ Cup Butter
½ Cup All-Purpose Flour
1 Tsp. Salt
1 Tsp. Liquid Smoke, Hickory
2 ½ Cups Milk
3 Cups Shredded Cheddar Cheese
Over low to medium heat, melt butter. Add flour and salt and mix with wire whisk until a roux forms. Pour in remaining ingredients and mix until cheese is completely melted. Serve over nachos or with your favor dipping foods.
