If you’ve been following along the past few weeks, then you know I’m on the path to a healthier life, a healthier me. I’m doing everything I can to make that possible by exercising more, distressing, taking time for myself, and of course eating right. February is Heart Health Month, so I thought now is as good as time as any to start focusing there. I can’t live a healthy life without a healthy heart, so it just makes sense, right?
I’m a snacker and sometimes I reach for the closest thing, but sometimes it isn’t the healthiest option. My baby also loves to snack, so I needed something that we both would enjoy and that would keep us on track to living a healthy life. Luckily, Publix has Cheerios™ +Ancient Grains, Gluten Free Chex™ Granola Mix, and Nature Valley® Nut Crisp Bars to help us out.
Regular exercise reduces the risk of heart disease, so I take my babies on jogs with me whenever I get the chance. We take the Nature Valley® Nut Crisp Bars with us. The mix of almonds, roasted sunflower seeds, peanuts, and chocolate make this a must have in my post-workout bag. They even come in handy after going a couple of miles and my little one wants something quick and non-messy to snack on.
When we get hit with a snack attack in the middle of the day, we mix dried cranberries, raisins and Gluten Free Chex™ Granola Mix in a bowl. Foods with whole grains and fruit help lower cholesterol. The flavors of honey and almonds along with the dried fruit satisfy our cravings and they’re super delicious!
